Industrial Academia Meet was successfully organized on 27th August 2014. It was one-day learning extravaganza where experts from industries like Textile major RSWM and Sangam, Steel Major Jindal Group, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd., PHED, Agriculture dept., etc. participated and shared their problems of waste water effluent. The meeting was followed by a panel discussion in which the Mr. B.S. Shekhawat from Jindal group shared a problem of sewage water treatment in the presence of oil globule and dye particles. To solve this problem Chemistry Department of the University worked upon it and suggested latest techniques on dyeing while using supercritical Carbon dioxide (CO2) in critical conditions. Currently, the Department of Chemistry with its students is working on the various applications of Advanced Oxidation methods to resolve the Textile effluent problem.
Team Chemistry visited Public Health and Engineering Department on 24th July 2014 state-of-the-art water testing laboratory to understand the new techniques of water analysis at Bhilwara.
Under the Financial Literacy initiative, a batch of Management students of Sangam University, Bhilwara visited Reserve Bank of India – RBI Jaipur office on May 16, 2013. The trip was aimed at getting better insight regarding functions and working of Reserve Bank of India. The session included various functions including its association with day-to-day life of a common person. The interactive session has raised queries by the students which were answered by the RBI experts.
An industrial visit was organized for the MBA final year students to Saras Dairy, Rajasthan on November 25, 2014. Dairy representatives illustrated the milk processing techniques and also explained the daily sales and marketing strategies. Students were given a task to analyze consumers’ behavior at Saras Dairy booth. The motive behind visit was to enrich students with the Dairy’s technological knowledge, human resource policies and job prospects in this sector.
The B.Tech ME students visited Sangam Power Plant in Hamirgarh, Bhilwara on 29 September 2014. The aim was to study the operations of the plant and relate the theory to the practical operations.
M.Sc. Chemistry II year students visited Jindal Saw Ltd. “It was exciting that we got an opportunity to observe the working environment of the country’s topmost industry houses and the foremost indigenous steel producers and exporters” Sangam Spinners on 19th September, 2014 where students were familiarized with the recent wastewater treatment processes that are designed to achieve improvements in the quality of the wastewater.
